William Charles Construction – Materials Division is the aggregate and asphalt production component of our construction business. We operate 11 quarries, two sand and gravel pits and four asphalt plants strategically located throughout Northern Illinois. For consecutive years, the Illinois Association of Aggregate Producers has bestowed its top safety awards to our quarries, which operate daily. The distinguished Diamond Achievement Award for Excellence was awarded to one of our quarries for exemplary plant and site operations by the National Asphalt Pavement Association.

Rock River Water Reclamation District Administration Building

The Rock River Water Reclamation District Administration Building is a 40,000 SF energy-friendly “green” building. It uses affluent water from the sanitary district to supply 30 heat pumps that regulate the heating and cooling systems.

Nicor Gas

Nicor Gas – Belvidere Park MGP Site

We installed Waterloo Barrier sheeting, installation, and operation of four mass water removal pumps along with water treatment. This was all executed prior to release into the sewer, excavation, transportation, and disposal of soil contaminated with MGP constituents and site restoration. Project involved cooperation with the EPA, IEPA, City of Belvidere, and the Army Corp of Engineers.

ISTHA 1-90/I-39 Illinois State Tollway

Realignment and reconstruction of existing I-90/I-39 interchange including 9,000 LF of mainline on Eastbound/Westbound I-90 and I-39, construction of 3 bridges including a 1,000 LF design/build flyover structure and construction of a new off-ramp for traffic detour.
