Jane Adams I-90 Reconstruction
This project involved the complete reconstruction and widening of approximately 15 miles of I-90 from Rockford towards the Wisconsin state line. Included were multiple MSE walls and bridges for the re-aligned Cherry Valley Interchange, widening and reconstruction of various bridge substructures as well as providing partial superstructure removal and reconstruction of mainline bridges and over-crossings, storm water management and drainage components, processing and recycling of the existing asphalt and concrete pavement for reuse in the final pavement design structure, full depth asphalt mainline paving and asphalt shoulders. The work was performed under six separate contracts and the majority of work was completed within two construction seasons. Major items of work included 1,600,000 CY of Earth Excavation, 925,000 SY of Pavement & Shoulder Removal, 1,100,000 TN of Stone Base, 750,000 TN of Full Depth Asphalt Mainline & Shoulders, 92,000 LF of Storm Drainage, 340,000 LF of Underdrain, 42,000 SF MSE Wall, $6m Electrical, $10m Concrete and Median Barrier Wall, $23m Bridges and Structural Components.
